Publicist Susan Soares of SJS Comic Promotions announced today the upcoming appearances of several notable creators in Boston. With convention season in full swing, Boston is bustling with anticipation for AnimeBoston 2011 and Boston Comic Con.  Each event hosts close to 200 small press and mainstream creators and Soares is excited to have representation at both events.

Beginning Friday April 22 and running through April 24, AnimeBoston serves as host to 20,000 fans of comics, anime and pop culture. Scheduled to appear at AnimeBoston are Dirk Tiede, creator of Paradigm Shift, Everett Soares, creator of Sky Pirates of Valendor and Rick Silva, publisher at Dandelion Studios.

Attendees of AnimeBoston 2011 will find Dirk Tiede on Artist Alley as one of the Featured Artists. In addition to selling his comics, prints and offering commission sketches, Dirk will be hosting two panel presentations:  The Business of Art & Comics from 1 to 2 pm on Friday and How to Draw and Use Backgrounds in Manga from 4 to 5pm on Saturday. Dirk is on the heels of a major announcement relative to Paradigm Shift and is very excited to be such an integral part of this year’s show.

In his very first appearance at AnimeBoston, publisher and writer Rick Silva is looking forward to this year’s event with great enthusiasm. The past 12 months have been very successful for Rick with the launch of his fantasy imprint Quarterstaff Comics including Perils of Picorna, Stone and Kaeli & Rebecca. Rick is coming to AnimeBoston with a full selection of comics that he is eager to share with fans.

For three years in a row, Everett Soares has exhibited at AnimeBoston and it is his most notable and successful appearance for the year. Different from years past, Everett is coming to AnimeBoston with a new story arc for his fantasy steampunk series, Sky Pirates of Valendor and a new publisher – himself. Everett launched Jolly Rogue Studios to publish his popular series when his partnership with Free Lunch Comics severed at the end of 2010.

Registered and potential attendees can visit the AnimeBoston website to confirm schedule of events and Artist Alley locations for Dirk, Rich and Everett as well as the other artists who will be exhibiting. Their website is http://animeboston.com. Dirk, Rick and Everett will all be available for interviews throughout the weekend.
