Crunchyroll, Inc., announced today the highly anticipated simulcast acquisition of GINTAMA, based off the popular, serialized manga written and illustrated by Hideaki Soraichi. GINTAMA is prepared to launch 30 minutes after immediate broadcast every Monday at 2:30 a.m. PST for premium members. More information can be found on www.Crunchyroll.com/Gintama.

GINTAMA will be available in the following territories: the Americas, Africa, Europe (except for Andorra, Italy, Vatican City, Portugal, Spain, and San Marino), Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East (except for Afghanistan and Iran).

Crunchyroll's Brand Manager Michelle Hwang said, “It was an absolute pleasure to feature the first four (4) seasons of GINTAMA, as it helped globalize the incomparable, unique style of Japanese humor. We are excited with the launch of season five (5) of this amazing series and am fully confident that it will be as humorous and colorful as its previous seasons!”

“GINTAMA is a story of a handyman named Gintoki, a samurai with no respect for rules set by the invaders, who's ready to take any job to survive. He and his gang, however, are also among the very few who have not forgotten the morale of a swordsman. Wherever they go, all they do is to create troubles. Troubles that they of course try to solve, but in reality...”

Episodes can be accessed from Crunchyroll.com, the free iPad and iPhone application, the Android application, Roku, Boxee, Vizio VIA, WD TV Live and additional set-top channels, and affiliate partners.

Crunchyroll premium members will have access to the largest anime and drama selection, same-day access for simulcasted titles, no advertisements and can be viewed in 480p-to-720p quality on selected titles. More information about the Crunchyroll membership plan can be found at: http://www.Crunchyroll.com/freetrial/
