Famous gunslingers will face off against dinosaurs in Tyrannosaurus West, shipping fall 2006 from Silent Devil. Co-written by Dracula vs. King Arthur co-creator Adam Beranek and screenwriter Dean Loftis (whose adaptation of the western/horror Valley of the Shadow is being produced by Jeffrey Sneller), Tyrannosaurus West chronicles Billy The Kid's great escape from Pat Garrett into a remote canyon in New Mexico, one that cradles a primordial forest teeming with dinosaurs.

"There's been a lot of tall tales written and filmed about Billy The Kid," says Beranek. "He was the embodiment of the Wild West in the 1880s. I'm thrilled to be able to include him in our story."

In addition to Billy The Kid and his arch-nemesis Pat Garrett, various other Old West icons will appear. Jesse James and Arthur Lakes, America's first dinosaur bone hunter, play integral parts.

Also in the mix is an intrepid reporter sent to cover the hunt for Billy The Kid. "Sarah came out West to cover the story of the century, the hanging of the world's most notorious outlaw," Loftis says. "But instead she gets the story of the millennium." In the process of securing the tale, Sarah becomes a hot commodity, as the men try to woo her romantically.

Tyrannosaurus West has plenty to offer fans of Westerns and dinosaur history, including a lesson on the perils of greed. Says Beranek "There's this railroad baron – the true villain of our tale - who in his murderous ambition to exterminate the Native Americans and exploit the West, unwittingly blasts open a canyon unleashing Jurassic horrors. Believe me, they'll have to rebuild Dodge City when this is over."
