The Sixth Bédélys Prize For French Comics

Come Monday, May 16, 2005, the Promo 9e Art Foundation, based in Montreal, Canada will present the sixth annual Bédélys Prize offered to French comic books from the Province of Quebec.

This year, Promo 9e Art will offer three prizes. The first, is the Prix Bédélys Jeunesse - Ville de Montréal, offered by the City of Montreal. Promo 9e Art attributes this prize to the best graphic novel for the 7 to 12-year-old market.

The Bédélys d'Or, offered by the Corporation des Bibliothécaires Professionnels du Québec is attributed to the best French speaking graphic novel.

The third prize, the Bédélys Québec, is offered by the Association des libraires du Québec. This prize celebrates the best graphic novel published within the Province of Quebec.

Comic book lovers and television hosts, Sylvie Lussier and Pierre Poirier, will animate the event in the new National Quebec Library in Montreal, Quebec.
