Basic Story Line

King of Fighters 2003 is a renowned computer game and now its in comic format :) Thank you ComicsOne and DGN Productions for publishing it in English, I’m a huge fan of the King of Fighters (KOF) series and I have played all of the games.

Anyway for those of you who don’t know of KOF. It is a tournament, which is held to see who is the ultimate fighter, but it isn’t just about fighting there is a story line behind it all. There is a massive selection of character for you to learn about. As each character has his/her very own personality and had a nice/bad past with lots of rivalry interwoven.

Writing and Story

The writing is done nicely, with a virtually seamless translation from Chinese to English. The story of KOF 2003 is pretty good, and it got really exciting at the end of the GN and I’m really itching to read the next one already. Since it is the first GN there isn’t much to it apart from introductions to all the characters and a general story line.

Artist Art Work

KOF 2003 has a Hong Kong style of art, which I love to bits. It is done very well. If you haven’t seen Hong Kong art work before you will be amazed, because it is totally different from Western comics and Manga. I would describe the art to you but I don’t think I can give it justice so I would just say have a look and judge it for yourself.

Story Line: 9/10
Writing and story: 9/10
Art Work: 10/10

Overall: 9/10
