At Hokuto, a prestigious jewelry company, Tadayoshi Moriya is the ad king.  His sharp instincts are telling him that he needs to find someone extra special to sell their latest product line, but even at the top agencies, Moriya can’t seem to find a model that is perfect to him.  A chance encounter leads him to Itsuki Ouno, a high school boy who seems perpetually frail and weak (or sleepy).  Still, in Moriya’s eyes, Ouno is possessed with flawless beauty and charisma to spare.

Moriya falls so madly in love with Ouno that he becomes a slave to his star model, lavishing him with love, comfort, fame, and a place to stay.  However, an old acquaintance and rival of Moriya, Miyahigashi, an advertising hotshot at Jewelry Highashi, also has his eyes on Ouno, and he just might manage to steal Moriya’s star and heart.

THE LOWDOWN:  Because it’s played over-the-top, I’ll Be Your Slave is actually quite entertaining – not to mention a quick and breezy read.  It’s yaoi manga, the subset of boys’ love comics that features explicit sex, but in this case, the narrative is overtly comic.  It’s more like one of those broad romantic comedies from a big Hollywood studio, but the lovers are male/male instead of A-list hunk/it-girl.  While manga-ka Miki Araya isn’t exactly parodying yaoi, she’s certainly taking advantage of the possibilities for humor.

POSSIBLE AUDIENCE:  Readers who want comic romp with their bedroom romps will find that I’ll Be Your Slave is rich in laughter.
