One of the greatest rivalries in gaming history is heading towards an explosive showdown as NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., announces that TEKKEN X Street Fighter is in development.  Set to change the fighting game landscape forever, players will get the best of both worlds, pitting the might of the greatest video game fighters of all time against each other within the TEKKEN® universe.

TEKKEN X Street Fighter will invite Street Fighter® characters into the TEKKEN universe for the very first time.  Each Street Fighter character will receive a TEKKEN visual makeover while keeping their fighting style and special moves fully intact.  Once there, players will discover for themselves whether they’re really a match for the lethal power of the TEKKEN alumni.

“The ultimate dream match-up is about to be realized. With this astonishing collaboration, a new chapter in fighting game history begins,” said Katsuhiro Harada, TEKKEN series director, Namco Bandai Games Inc. “The Street Fighter and TEKKEN development teams have a great relationship. However, I see this new project not as a collaboration, but as the competition of the century between two legendary fighting game franchises.”

Trailer Comic-Con 2010:

“Street Fighter X TEKKEN”, to be developed by Capcom, will feature TEKKEN characters making their debut in the Street Fighter world. Meanwhile, NBGI’s “TEKKEN X Street Fighter” will feature Street Fighter characters bringing the fight to the TEKKEN world. This collaboration is one fighting games fans have been dreaming of.

“This is history we’re making. Two fighting games that have rivaled each other are finally standing on the same stage,” said Yoshinori Ono, “Street Fighter IV” series producer, Capcom. “This isn’t just a showdown between TEKKEN and Street Fighter, but a decisive battle for Capcom and NBGI, so I’m going to give it my all.”
