About Collecting Action Figures

Although the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul sells everything, I don't recall seeing any action figures. I'll have to go back and check.
Anyway, I felt I would blog about action figures today because I reached a milestone in my thesis writing so I feel less guilty. I've got the introductory chapter done - first write up. It will probably change a lot in and be rewritten at least three times, but at least I've got something tangible and I know how to go from there. A bit late though, compared to my original plan.
Anyway, the lady said I could end up regretting having so many action figures when I'm older. I thought she meant I'd be 80 or something with a room full of toys and I'm old and alone. Nah, she said. She said I might regret it way before because of all the money I spend on these things.
To be fair, I've drastically cut down on action figures. I don't follow them as much as I used to because of lack of time and place to store them. But I still like action figures. The last ones I got were from the Resistance video game by DCDirect. I felt that they were quite different from the usual fair from that company. They are smaller in scale and have the type of articulation you'd find on a GI Joe. I haven't had time to take them out of their package. They look nicer than the pic from DCDirect though.
I've also always been bad at hunting for rarer action figures at places like Wallmart and Toys R US. It's just not how I get toys. I'd rather get them from the comic book store with my comics.
Will I stop collecting action figures? Hell no. What will probably happen is that I'll catch up on a few must have items and start reviewing my extensive collection again at the Bin. If people complaint about me reviewing an action figure from 2001, then so be it. That action figure from 2001 is nowhere to be found anyway. My favourite lines have always been DCDirect, Marvel Legends and Sota Street Fighter. That's what I'll continue collecting and review.
