It’s the wedding issue everybody has been waiting for months. Storm of the X-Men will marry the Black Panther, the ruler of the small African nation called Wakanda. The wedding occurs in the middle of the civil war raging in the Marvel Universe and Captain America and Iron Man confront each other. But before they can ruin the party, Storm has to be approved by the Panther God and Man-Ape and Spider-man get into a fight. Will this wedding proceed as scheduled or will there be another crisis at the isle?

The Watcher showed up at the wedding and freaked everyone. While I like that Marvel remembers to use the Watcher, I wish they don’t go overboard with him. He recently showed up at the beginning of the civil war and using him too much for “important events” dilutes his character.

Still, this issue is quiet and one of the best super hero wedding I have ever read. There are small skirmishes here and there, no villain steals the show. The wedding occurred the way it does at 90% of wedding. Some people get a little drunk and old opponents diss each other. I wish Huddlin had given more information on all of Storm’s family, though. It can get confusing for readers who did not purchase her mini-series.

I really like how Eaton has replaced John Romita Jr. His work is less glamourous but more solid. Also, he gives each of his characters unique faces. Janson overpowers anyone he inks, giving a rough sketchy feel to the artwork. It’s as if he used dried inks to ink the artwork.

9/10
