Brian Michael Bendis rushes events in order to not give the Avengers a rest. Because of this, his writing becomes forced and uncharacteristic with various characters. Bendis has the characters attack blindly despite the addition of many great strategists among the group of heroes with military experience. Readers find out at the end of the issue the entire purpose of the story and that is the dead of yet another Avenger.
David Finch does some amazing work with his illustrations, but the constant red highlights and background distracts and overshadows his work. The use of too much red only lessens the effect it was intended to give and Finch’s work suffers because of it.
