When his dorm mate Kasumi Amano walks in on him while he is masturbating, Hiyori Nakatani has to admit to Kasumi that he’s smitten with him.  After all, Hiyori thought of Kasumi to arouse himself, and it turns out that Kasumi might also be interested in his roommate.  But both young men are nervous about the eventual physical encounter they will have.  Will their confused signals cross them up and keep physical love from ever blooming?

THE LOWDOWN:  A stand alone volume, After I Win, is yaoi manga for fans who love seeing two shy young bucks act like does.  Yaoi manga is a subset of boys’ love manga in which the relationship between two male romantic leads is depicted in a sexual graphic manner.  Here, the boy on boy boot knockin’ takes a backseat to this gentle story of awkward first love.  It’s fun and, at times, a little frustrating to see these lads fumble around before finally getting it right.

This novel is told in three chapters.  The shorter second and third chapters feature Hiyori’s hilariously horny and perverted older brother Nii-san Nakatani.  Nii-san’s tales feature more comedy than sex, and it’s a delight to watch the sly Nii-san get what he wants even when the objects of his affection initially resist.  He needs his own book.

POSSIBLE AUDIENCE:  Yaoi fans will find After I Win to be standard material, but the Nii-san tales add some comedic zest.
