Wolverine and Blade Anime Coming In July

After releasing DVD collections of the first two series created under the Anime imprint, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release Blade Anime and Wolverine Anime on DVD on July 1st 2012. The two series were first release for television in 2010 and featured animation by Japanese studios adapting Marvel Comics characters for an anime audience based in Japan and in North America.

 In Blade Anime, the vampire hunter travels to Japan to look for Deacon Frost, the man who killed his mom while she was pregnant with him.  In Wolverine Anime, the X-Man travels to Japan to retrieve his lover Mariko Yashida who is to be married to Kurohagi, a criminal associate of her father.

Each collected edition features several DVDs collecting the entire 13 episode series as well as extra features and interviews with the Japanese and American crews exploring how they reinvented the characters for as anime icons.
