Thor and Tyr go to Hell to help Hela defeat the Disirs, those ancient valkyries that were exiled by Bor and who eat Asgardian souls. But one the way to hell, Thor and Tyr learn that one of the only way to defeat the Disirs is to retrieve a sword from the realm of Mephisto, that old Marvel Comics villain. Will they succeed?

This story is quite interesting and I like the challenge the Disirs offer. Their hunger really felt real and there’s more to them than the writer is revealing. I can’t wait to see what connection Tyr has to them. As for Thor, he’s as noble as ever and really the one who should be ruling Asgard. I like how Balder quickly excused himself from the mission to hell, either because he was a coward or because he thinks his job is to rule. Whatever his motivations are, he is not as noble as spirit as Thor, and I like seeing the writer differentiate him like that.

The artwork feels like illustrations without the proper inking. For some reason, it reminds me of the kind of epic comic strips one would read in Prince Valliant, although the style is completely different. It’s not a complaint, but a compliment.
