DC Comics is taking a beating with comics that so infuriate many of us that we just stop reviewing them. It’s a sad statement about the output by DC Comics when none of us find anything worth reviewing. Hopefully, the changes with Convergence will help rectify that for the publisher. Marvel Comics is not fairing better with its Disney-mandated focus on promoting only material that highlights the cinematic universe. That’s not the kind of comics that I want to read. Where is the House of Ideas? So, Instead of finding specific listings for Marvel or DC Comics, they are now part of the larger new comics section, where they are joined by anything by other publishers. It’s still possible to target only Marvel or DC Comics in the advance search engines though.
I cleaned up many of the comics columns with few articles or ones that had not been updated in months. So there is no more a dedicated Religion and Comics section. Well, it’s still here, but part of the greater Spotlight section. Ditto for Black Astronaut, Queer Comics and Knowledge. I hope that this will be easier for you to find the articles that you seek. Again, our powerful advanced search engines still allows you to target material in the previous columns. It’s all there. It just won’t show up on the menus.
Other sections that I consolidated were the movies, game and action figure sections. Movies and games are still active. Toys, on the other hand, which for years were my baby is not. I don’t collect as much due to space and budget. I’m a fulltime graduate student on a fixed income.
Finally, the emphasis on Web comics which is an area where ComicBookBin is growing due to the original comics we post every week (Grumble and Johnny Bullet) and our continuing coverage of that area, which I believe is immense and very important for the industry.
