Much is revealed in this issue, such as the mystery behind Scrappy Doo’s master, as well as the problem with Velma. Sure, she can be a condescending intellectual, but in recent issues it’s gone way beyond that. She’s had her hands full, with managing the refuge in the Albany mall, and only incompetent boobs to help. Let’s face it, even the monsters outside didn’t want these knuckleheads.

Daphne’s confrontation with Fred continues, but he’s not nearly as benign as he may have led us to believe. However it has happened that he isn’t dead, he seems to have an agenda of his own, separate from the creatures that have turned the outside world into a living hell.

Scooby’s new found intellect sits well with him, but Cliffy – the Cousin Oliver of this Scooby Doo series – isn’t so sure. He’d like the original Scooby back. It’s the one he knows, the one he’s comfortable with. Because as every child must learn, life is full of change, and sometimes, the people we know go away in one manner or another, never to return. Cliffy’s having a hard time processing that.

I appreciate the reveals in this issue, but the last one left me a bit disappointed. It’s as if the series has circled back to an earlier scenario, one I’d hoped we’d left behind. Maybe it will turn out differently this time around; it very easily could. But for now, it seems too much like a rehash.
