When we left off last issue, Scrappy had followed the monsters call to a remote location, where they were slowly merging their bodies into a giant form, knotting limbs and bodies together to create a single immense creature controlled from within. But made up by the sum of its parts, the body has no infrastructure, no skeleton, to give itself form.

Just the kind of thing Scrappy can sink his teeth into. And Scooby as well. But can they survive? And what of Scrappy’s pet boy, Cliffy? What will become of him should Scrappy not make it out alive? Well, he’ll be in fine hands, if Daisy can be relied on to keep them all alive another day.

There’s not much meat on the bones of this book at the current time. It breaks off at an inopportune time, to make way for a revisionist version of Hanna-Barbera’s Secret Squirrel. He’s an actual squirrel, rather than a buck-toothed cartoon. But to remain undercover, methinks a squirrel’s best hiding place would be obvious.

I don’t know how much life remains in this book. It seems to have gone on for a while, progressing toward a resolution at a snail’s pace. I’d prefer to see some significant advancement, maybe a victory or two to revive my flagging interest.
