Oni Press hosted its "RevolutiONIze Comics" panel discussion Saturday evening at Emerald City Comicon. James Lucas Jones, editor-in-chief, moderated the panel discussion featuring artist Joëlle Jones, of Helheim; writer Charles Soule, and the creative team behind The Sixth Gun, writer Cullen Bunn, artist Brian Hurtt and colorist Bill Crabtree.

CBR.com said Jones started the evening by reminding everyone of The Strangers, a ‘60s power-pop super-spy thriller by Chris Roberson and Scott Kowalchuk. It’s slated to debut on Free Comic Book Day.

He also announced the TV pilot for The Sixth Gun is set to begin filming March 18. Laura Ramsey (The Ruins) will be playing Becky Montcrief, joined by W. Earl Brown (Deadwood) as General Hume, Graham McTavish (The Hobbit) as Silas Hedgepeth and Aldis Hodge (Leverage) as Agent Mercer. The pilot is written by Ryan Condell (Hercules: The Thracian Wars), directed by Jeffrey Reiner and produced by Lost producer Carlton Cuse.

The Sixth Gun is slated to end with #50, but Bunn and Hurtt added there may still be room for additional stories taking place in the same world. They also hinted at future projects, including the possibility of a return to The Damned.

Jones was also eager to discuss the upcoming series, Helheim, written by Bunn and featuring art by Joëlle Jones. Described as a "Viking-era Frankenstein story,” it debuts March 6.

Soule's new project, a political thriller entitled Letter 44, with artist Alberto Albuquerque, will debut in October. Soule explained that in writing the book, he was invested in rooting the premise in reality as much as possible. He visited NASA researchers in Florida and rooted his space-travel storyline in technology that could, potentially, be feasible.
