Now! On with the show...
The Secret Service #1

At the risk of repeating myself, Mark Millar’s consistent attempts to publish Hollywood spec scripts as comic books may smack in the face of fanboy purity, but...it sure as hell is entertaining.
Gary, a North London teenage hood, continuously presses his luck with local law enforcement. When a high speed car chase finds him tossed in prison, Gary’s “Uncle Jack” arrives to scare the kid straight. Jack ain’t no push over though. He’s a no nonsense agent of Britain’s Secret Service.
Concocted by Millar (Ultimates, Wanted, and the Kick-Ass comic) and filmmaker Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: First Class, Stardust, and the Kick-Ass movie), The Secret Service starts incredibly strong despite being a bit slow in revealing itself. Amusingly, the book’s string of movie references displays a love affair with cinema. Hopefully, that’s not just Millar sucking the teat of Tinsel Town, but an indicator of a potentially massive 007-styled action yarn coming our way.
