”Blockbuster” reaches its conclusion, with a shake-up for the status quo in Nightwing’s world. Last issue left us on a ship rigged to blow in mere seconds (Holy cliffhangers!). The resolution to this particular predicament is brilliant, one worthy of Mr. Miracle himself.

Even so, there’s still the final showdown between Nightwing and Blockbuster and/or Tiger Shark, two competing criminals whose only common goal is keeping the former Boy Wonder off the collective back of Bludhaven’s underworld. Does Nightwing take sides? Support the lesser evil? Let them destroy one another?

Well, none of the above, really. In this story there really aren’t any winners or losers, not the least of which is Nightwing himself. Were Tim Seely to leave the title at this point (Heaven forbid), he would have set things up for a whole new direction with a fresher perspective. Not a bad place to leave matters.

But Nightwing is a good title when the setting stays in Bludhaven. This issue allowed a controversial ongoing plot point to be laid to rest, thereby opening the paths to which the story may follow. It has potential to be a great book. Hopefully this new beginning will allow it to be.
