It’s the last issue of the popular mini-series that will make its way into the silver screens very soon. Big Daddy has been killed last issue, and it’s up to Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl to stop the mobsters and get away with their lives. But the bad guys are not letting go. Can the young heroes make it alive?

This issue was all action and more the more gory type to be precise. It was also my first Kick-Ass issue and I’m glad to say that I was able to pick up the story exactly where it started without any extensive background. A part of me says all comic books should be this easy to read. The story is straightforward and perhaps overrated. There are no nuances here. What you see is what you get and for many readers that might be what the doctor ordered.

I like the innocence of the characters captured by Romita, although I keep thinking that Steve Dillon would have been a better pick for this seores. Romita does make the action larger than life and he knows how to draw a good mobster. But for some reason, I would have preferred Dillon to handle the gore instead. Well, it’s never too late to hope and maybe the second mini-series will bring that.
