The Justice Society finally reunites, just in time to discover the secret of the god-like Gog.

This issue does not contain too many surprises. As expected, Gog is not the benevolent god that he has been claiming to be and some Justice Society members soon pay a price for trusting him.  Despite the predictability, the story still has an adequate amount of tension and action as the heroes finally go up against a being who towers above them, both in stature and power.

The art is rather weird. The issue has no credits but it is apparently a product of Dale Eaglesham and Jerry Ordway. Instead of tackling individual chapters, they do it tag-team style-- two pages by Ordway, one by Eaglesham, another by Ordway, Eaglesham again... etc. While the transitions are far from seamless, at least the story remains easy to follow. Both artists were a bit stiff with the human figures looking too posed instead of being animated but the art still had a lot of detail and clarity that makes it attractive to look at and allows readers to get into it.

There may be some disappointment for those who were expecting a "KINGDOM COME"-level story. For all the build-up that preceded this issue, it looks like just another evil alien storyline. They could have wrapped it up sooner but the results so far have been satisfactory.
