Ball State University doctoral candidate Christina Blanch is offering a free course called "Gender Through Comic Books" that promises to look at how "comic books can be used to explore questions of gender identity, stereotypes, and roles."  On top of this, the course will feature interviews with some of comics' top creators, like Brian K. Vaughan (Saga), Mark Waid (Daredevil), and Terry Moore (Rachel Rising).

You can enroll now at the following link:

Ball State University is following an increasing trend of universities offering free courses for people online.  The self-described MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about comics and gender in an academic environment.  I've already enrolled, hope to see you there!
