I have a feeling this story will end with a chick fight and I can’t wait. Instead of concentrating on super heroics, Millar focuses on the dynamics of the Fantastic Four, making them fun to read. He really nails it down with Ben Grimm, who can see his best friend Reed Richards slowly falling for another woman. Even the new Earth created to house humanity when the original Earth dies is interesting, although I wonder where all the material used to create a new planet comes from. Last issue, I wasn’t convinced about this new team and where the book was going, but Millar has argued his case well with this issue which really introduces the main plot elements of this story.
Hitch is good, but I have to say that his Johnny Storm does not look like he’s a guy all women fall for. He looks a bit stuffy as opposed to a dazing sex symbol. As for the other characters, I have no complaints. They all look good and believable.
