It was only a matter of time before they met, the 616 Marvel Universe characters and those from the zombieverse that have been plaguing a lot of worlds for over a year. The Fantastic Four, headed by the Black Panther are on a Skrull planet trying to stop a giant bug from the negative zone that crashed in the Baxter Building last issue. But using a magical gold frog transported the Fantastic Four to an alternate universe where some of Marvel’s heroes, have become zombies and are munching everything else. What else can go wrong.

At this point, the story is so over the top, there’s no point comparing it with the smart storylines that progressed in the past. Seems like Hudlin is having a good time with the zombies. Who wouldn’t? As usual, once the good guys have fought each other, they are now ready to take on the real bad guys. If this story won’t win any Eisner because of its profoundness, it will at least be an enjoyable ride, and to Hudlin’s credits, it’s funny.

Portela draws crisp backdrops and characters. His zombies are a lot of fun, although they lack some kind of kinetic berserk energy. The fight scenes are well done. Even his rendition of Storm is better this issue. He’s growing on me a suitable regular artist for Black Panther.
