Black Panther #25

The final confrontation between Storm and the Thor clone is at an end while the rest of the motley crew of rebel heroes is fighting in Marvel’s Civil War. This is a fight where there will definitely be a loser. The Wakandan Embassy is destroyed during the fight foreshadowing some of the events in the lives of the Black Panther the next few months. But first, the fight must go on.

Hudlin inserted some brilliant comments during the Reed Richard and Storm exchange, but the fight which corelates with Civil War #7 was all over the place. He showed some precious moments from the fight that the other series did not have time to cover, but the only way to get true satisfaction was to read both comic books at the same time, and of course, no one tells us before. It was a chaotic read which shows that tightly integrated crossovers are not always a good thing.

Marcus To’s work was good in this issue, but the colouring left and odd taste. It is different from other issues and somewhat closer to the Civil War series. It looked dirty and washed. It was not a good mock up of the Civil War. As for the cover, it seems like Michael Turner is finally figuring out how to draw new posed. It’s about time.
