October is shaping up to be a big month for DC Comics fans: the Joker is making his comeback in the pages of Snyder and Capullo's Batman, the Green Lantern books are going to be seeing an important crossover, a new, but as of yet unnamed, creative team will be taking over Detective Comics, and now Black Lightning and Blue Devil are back and legendary creator Joe Kubert has his own anthology series.

Blue Devil and Black Lightning will both be making their New 52 debuts within the pages of DC Universe Presents #13 on October 17, written by Marc Andreyko and illustrated by Robson Rocha. Blue Devil was originally introduced in The Fury of Firestorm #24 in 1984 and later became an integral member of the occult super-team Shadowpact. Black Lightning first saw print in Black Lightning #1 in 1977 and became one of the founding members of The Outsiders.

Joe Kubert's six-issue anthology series, Joe Kubert Presents, will also debut in October on Halloween. As DC reports:

"The inaugural issue spans 48 pages and includes a Hawkman epic written and illustrated by Kubert, a tale of Angel and The Ape from writer/artist Brian Buniak, and a return to comics for writer/artist Sam Glanzman with a new tale of the U.S.S. Stevens."
