Aquaman has suffered the same fate with Brad Walker who was set to be the main artist being replaced very quickly by Scot Eaton and Philippe Briones. These two artists are dependable but more of what we could consider the safe DC Comics house style. Walker’s work was more in line with Marvel Comics and much more dynamic. Upon reading that Aquaman was being switched to a monthly format, I worried that the series was not selling well and like Cyborg and Deathstroke needed a little breather to not fall behind.
With the announcement that Croatian artist Stjepan Sejic is the new artist on the series, my worries stopped. The reason Aquaman is going monthly is so that Sejic can work his wonder on the series without requiring a fill-in artist, the way that Walker did. As you can see in the preview pages sent by DC Comics, this is a great decision after all!
