This issue opens from Led Author’s perspective and narrative voice as superman patrols the city and comes up against the Machinist mind controlling animals and people to attack him.

Superman goes to confront Lex about the tech.  They discover the mind control is global so fly off and eventually even Lex is taken over.

There has been a trend in DC where some have complained about some of their titles plotting and pacing. This title doesn’t seek to fall under the umbrella of being slow, with not much happening. There are panels which slow action down but they are few. I can not say this is most compelling story about superman I have ever read, but it is fast paced and intriguing.

The art is not the most magnificent by the publisher, but March's art is fairly pretty. Doesn’t blow my mind with the beauty but it gets the job done. The illustrations are functional with just enough flair to appeal to comic fans.
