Image Comics has announced that Diamond is completely sold out of the PvP: THE DORK AGES trade paperback, the first collection of Scott Kurtz's popular PvP webstrip/Image comic. The book reprints the first six issue of the original series, which was published by Dork Storm before moving to Image Comics. A second printing of the trade with an all new cover is scheduled to hit shelves in November.
With over 100,000 daily visitors, Kurtz's webstrip is one of the most popular on the internet (www.pvponline.com), and that popularity is reflected in the strength of PvP's sales.
"Dork Ages is the first trade I published through Image" says Kurtz. "It's my older self-published work, but the book sold out in less than five months. I think it's safe to say that Image has brought some new readers to PvP."
Kurtz's popular online comic strip revolves around the staff of a gaming magazine (including a big blue troll intern named Skull) and their day-to-day adventures. Each issue of PvP collects 22 pages of strips in the same "sideways" landscape format as Frank Cho's LIBERTY MEADOWS.
Although the first printing of PvP: THE DORK AGES is sold out at Diamond, it's possible copies still remain with your local retail comic shop. If you don't know where a comic shop is in your area, call 1-888-COMIC BOOK to access the Comic Book Shop Locator Service.
