Black Adam wants his new girlfriend to become part of the Marvel family while Elongated Man finally catches up with Wonder Girl to uncover what her cult is about. Has Black Adam bargained more than he should have by giving powers to this girl? Can the Elongated Man’s wife return from the dead? The back end story is a short introduction to the origin of Wonder Woman.
While it’s interesting to know what happened to Captain Marvel since he was last seen, why would Black Adam go to the Rock of Eternity to transform Adrianna into a super goddess if he could do it in his castle. Why even ask the seven deadly sins to approve of the girl if he already had his mind made up? Was Captain Marvel’s appearance even necessary? As for the Elongated Man, his switch to Wonder Girl’s cult is too fast to be credible. The Wonder Woman introduction purposely left out the issue of the Pre Crisis Wonder Woman’s history and what is the current status.
Barrows added a cape to Black Adam similar to Captain Marvel’s. It looks cool on him although I don’t recall ever seeing the character with one. Is this a symbol of Black Adam’s new benevolence? The artwork is good, especially the Wonder Woman’s origin, although it was too short to sate Adam Hughes’ fans.
