A Colossal Mistake

Juggernaut
For the past 2 years or so I have been collecting action figures such as Mattel's Batman and Toy Biz's Spider-Man, Hulk, X-Men, and Marvel Legends.  While I knew that storing these figures in a cooler climate is always preferrable, I did not think much of the heat as most of figures were never even opened.  I simply did not have the time and my New York state of mind prevented me from crowding my closet (and arguing with my wife), over big boxes full of action figures.  So, the only LOGICAL thing I did was store the boxes in the garage.  That proved to be a mistake becasue a New York state of mind does not work in Southern Heat.

My old figures in New York never warped, that cannot be said fr my crurent collection.  I have had to have a "Grand Opening Day" of sorts for many of my figures.  And while I have not finished opening all of them, some things have made me sad.

The Juggernaut:  Maybe it is his weight, but he seems to go into slits when I stand him up.  I have to use his massive arms and position them to stay down at his sides in order to block his legs from spreading out.

Colossus
Colossus:   One of the best designed Marvel Legends has gone all noodles on me. Unless this is a problem for everyone who bought Colossus, his chest/ stomach joint which allows him to bend like he he is doing push-ups or some sort of breathing exercise is so loose he reminds me of when people used to dance "the funky chicken".  I am blaming the heat.

Any more problems and I will let you know.  Be informed, it ain't good to keep your figures warm.  (hey, that rhymed!!!)

A Colossal Mistake:

Why oh why did I not place the new Colossus on layway when the price was only $6.64???   Just when I figured my old Colossus from Marvel Legends series 5 was still in the best of shape.  Now that the heat has turned him into John Travolta's character from Saturday Night Fever, I will need to pick up the new X-Men Classics version fo Colossus as well.   From now on, the rule is to open the characters soon after I get them home.
