Based on the best-selling children’s fantasy series, The Spiderwick Chronicles, by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black is the new film from Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies, The Spiderwick Chronicles.  It’s the film that warns, “Don’t trust what you think you see…”

Peculiar things start to happen the moment Jared Grace (Freddie Highmore)and his family:  his twin brother, Simon (Freddie Highmore), his older sister, Mallory (Sarah Bolger), and their mother, Helen (Mary-Louise Parker), moved into the secluded old house owned by their great, great uncle Arthur Spiderwick (David Strathairn).  Unable to explain the strange disappearance and accidents that seem to be happening on a daily basis, Jared’s family blames him.  When he, Simon, and Mallory start to investigate, the trio uncovers the fantastic truth of the Spiderwick estate and the creatures that inhabit it.

Jared discovers a book, “Arthur Spiderwick’s Field Guide to the Fantastical World Around You.”  The inscription on the cover declares:  “Do not dare read this Book for if you take one fateful look you barter at your life’s expense and face a deadly consequence.”  Now, the Grace children embark on a fantasy adventure that reveals the rest of the world around them.
