The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive # 4

The new Flash learns more about his restored powers while his former friend, wannabe-superhero Griffin discovers the hidden price of his new powers. Bart still has to face a threat that is worthy of his abilities as this issue largely focuses on the development of Bart's new romance and the deterioration of Griffin's condition. This slow character development is starting to get on one's nerves. The new characters are interesting-- but not that interesting. We need action to keep us reading. Hopefully, things will start shaping up after a long-vanished supervillain makes a return in the latter pages. The art has improved sharply but Lashley is still a rather messy artist, especially with his dark lines and excessive shading. He does give the characters a sense of power and movement but he also makes human figures look like they were splashed with ink. In one scene--- POSSIBLE SPOILERS-- Griffin discovers that his face has become all wrinkled and aged. But with the art, it is hard to tell if hie really has gotten older or if that is simply part of the style of the artist.
