I saw this on the shelf inside the bookstore and looked through it. Although I skimmed through most of it inside the store I decided that I have to own it!

This guide features original artwork of locales in the Superman and DC universe as well as exciting artwork from various issues of Superman comics throughout the years. Each character has his/her own page with descriptions as well as accompanying pictures.

There’s a breakdown of all the locations and characters residing in Metropolis. We are taken through all the Superman years, all the way back to the Golden age to present day comics.

This great guide also has all of the allies and villains of our main man. Superboy, Supergirl, Darkseid, Doomsday, you name it, they got it! There is also a timeline and index at the end of this book, pretty informative.

What I really like about this guide is that it shows all the various styles or artwork used in the Superman comics from the early 90’s to the present, although most of the artwork is in that timeframe I really did enjoy this book and I will use it as a reference when drawing any of the characters.

If you’re looking for a guide to Superman that has pretty much everything in it, including his origin, birth, death, and return then this is the book for you!

Layout – 7/10 Sometimes a bit shifty but very understandable.

Artwork – 8/10 The artwork is fantastic and it makes you want to read all the information just to know what you’re looking at!

Design – 7/10 The overall design is pretty clean and I didn’t notice any flaws.

Overall – 8/10 Glad I own it!
