Runaways # 6

You have to hang around with the kids of your parents friends, who are pretty annoying apart from this one girl
Nico. What would happen though if you all caught your parents doing something so wrong, so incomprehensible the first thing you can do is runaway. Now these same annoying kids are your only allies in this whole messed up situation.
Alex has emerged as the leader figure. What will he do!?!
Vaughan has really excelled himself with this first arc. The way the story was left from issue #5 really made you wonder what would happen next and the way
Vaughan handled it was definitely organic. Nothing seemed forced and the dialogue came off as both real and funny (without being patronising), which really makes the story so compelling. We got the payoff of a great story, plus an itch that can only be quenched by picking up more issues! Damn you
Vaughan, GREAT job :)
The motto of this book should be "less is sometimes best"! Take the art,
Alphona doesn't try to make it over complex. It's not convoluted with lines. It's great how he can covey so much emotion, with jus the littlest of adjustments to the characters. It's simple but creates such an impact to the story. This issue the effects of both
Molly and
Karolinas powers are captured so well, but not at the expense of anything else. And the cover is GREAT!
