The world as we know it is about to end and the Runaways are the only hope to prevent it! But if our fledgling teenage heroes are going to succeed, they may have to become just as evil as their villainous parents..
From the beginning we’ve known the Pride were a villainous group, but nothing more. They own LA, so who are they? Well, now we are shown how it all began. This issue reminded me of Princess Bride or Neverending Story, in the manor how it jumped back and forth from storyteller to story. The interlinking dialogue was good and Vaughan’s done a great job of magnetizing all those traits we’ve noticed between the Pride when they interact with each other. But who called 911?
It was nice to have Alphona back on interiors and give the characters back that familiar feel we all know. It was funny seeing the kids parents as their younger selves, especially Alex’s Dad with hair :D I really liked the designs for the Gibborim. They had an Egyptian feel to them, but still with an original tint. The covers are always nice and this was no exception, but I’d like to see some sort of meaning to the issue itself in them.
