PLASTIC MAN #3

I don't know how well Kyle Baker's revival of the PLASTIC MAN comic is doing as far as sales are concerned, but it's one of the best comics from a mainstream publisher, a masterpiece of comic timing and visual acuity.

Although issue 3 is part of a larger story arc, it's funny in and of itself. Baker writes lots of dialogue, but every word is important, and I don't remember an instance of a waste. Baker has been one of the most adventurous cartoonists for over a decade, and with Plastic Man he shows the great sense of design and illustration that earned him that reputation. Each pages makes sense and the story flows easily from one page to the next. That's been the case for every issue up to now. The only visual slip up I can find is a jarring appearance by the JLA, definitely not right for this book.
[DRECK, DULL, READABLE, VERY GOOD, EXCELLENT]
