The Question #4

By Koppy McFad

Veitch seems to be trying too hard to put a bizarre, metaphysical spin on all his DC titles. This time it is the Question, formerly a rather logical fellow, who is stumbling around Metropolis in some sort of drug-induced haze, listening to the mysterious messages that the city is sending him about some evil conspiracy that not even Superman has detected. Superman actually drops by in this issue to ask Vic Sage some questions but lets him off to continue his quest. The story is intriguing and the art, which appears to be painted, gives the story a nice hallucinatory look. At the same time, the characters aren't very engaging and the action sequences, with the Question casually snatching armed men out of moving cars, are more confusing than exciting. It is a strange and amazing trip to be sure but one that leaves the heart untouched.
