Immortal mutant Apocalypse is about to release a new destructive force on humanity if world leaders don’t heed to his command and execute 90% of their human populations. Just when all hopes are lost, the X-Men join the Avengers along with a few new sentinels to take on the villain and his horsemen, which include two former X-Men. Can the combine might of the Avengers and the X-Men defeat Apocalypse?

This is the type of story that I would expect from an animated series. It is worse, actually. It is a classic formula-influenced fight to the finish ending where everybody betrays everybody else and where everybody has weird speech patterns and things to say. It really felt like reading a 1970s comic book but without the thrills. One could even predict the ending. The X-Men have reached a new low.

This issue and styling look great. It feels like we’re watching a cartoon series. The Sentinels are cool looking. These look more like Japanese mechas though. Seems like Marvel will release new toys based on these characters very soon. The new sentinels really are the highlights of this issue where characters seem to fight because they were told they had to. Although the artwork looks very good, it really is nothing than a rehearsed composition for a wrestling match we all know is rigged.
