X-MEN #159 "DAY OF THE ATOM" pt. 3 (of 4)

The shocking return of an enemy thought dead rocks the X-Men to their very core! Can they overcome an adversary more powerful than they imagined, or will internal strife within the team itself tear them apart first?

After the accident at the end of last issue that cracked Xorn’s helmet, things are still in disarray. Will he be their end, or is there another collective who want first dibs!?! The story continues to keep you intrigued and it will be interesting to see where the Immortals will go from here. There are a few cringe moments. The dialogue between Iceman and Juggernaut seems off and childish at times and there are a few slips in other places. All in all though, Austen is doing a good job.

Laroca continues to wow with his skilled pencils. He does a great job of showing Havoc using his powers to counter Xorn’s black hole affect. The chemistry between Loroca and Austen is definitely apparent. As everything that is written, all the emotion, whether it is anger or resolute determination, just jumps out at you. The landscapes and backgrounds are also wonderfully developed.
