The main attraction of PES’s new project is to make original animation movies in collaboration with directors who represent the Japanese animation industry. They all share TOYOTA’s philosophy of seeking harmony among people, society and the global environment, and the development of a sustainable society through manufacturing in the background of their creation. The first production of this new project will be announced on March 21 at PES booth.

In addition, a special talk event will be held on the mini-stage at the PES booth several times during TAF. The production of PES's new projects for 2013 will be announced on March 21, and other events are planned.

ToyToyota Project: PES Concept

Human evolution is represented by the history of mobility. Cars bring our mobility to life, and yet all too often, everyone talks about the complicated technological aspects of automobiles rather than just the joy of mobility. TOYOTA has discovered the “TOY” in its own corporate name as the origin of lively and cheerful joy. Then, as part of ToyToyota projects aimed at spreading the joy of mobility, TOYOTA and STUDIO4C, a leading Japanese animation studio, have together created an animation series, PES (Peace Eco Smile), following a curious alien exploring the joy of driving and the importance of safety.

IS JAPAN COOL? :

To attract new fans of Japan, ANA launched "Is Japan Cool?", a campaign that examines the country's cultural attractions and trends through the eyes of non-Japanese. The campaign's global website - inaugurated in February 2012 - contains striking photos, videos and interviews about 'cool Japan', capturing everything from traditions and scenery to cutting-edge technology and riotous fashion. All the fascinating diversity and chaos found in the country is categorized by themes such as Discover, Tokyo, Okinawa, Cosplay, Traditions (Kyoto) and Kawaii. The interactive content allows site visitors to vote for what they think is cool (or not so cool) with results displayed in real-time. They can also comment on topics via popular social networking media. The site has been re-tweeted by notables, while a sweepstakes offering free flights to Japan garnered more than 50,000 entries from 152 countries. In addition, the site's YouTube video went viral with over one million views and was subsequently selected as a promotional spot for Tokyo's push to host the 2020 Summer Olympics. ANA is continuing to leverage the popularity of the site to further entice visitors from overseas.
