This is not a story bout Superhero's! This is a story about four teens, May, Mary, Ben and Richard. It's the story of their summer in the Hamptons. It's not all glamour though, as they are working at a holiday resort for the rich. This won't stop them having fun though.
This isn't the best thing Millar's ever written, it's probably not going win awards, but it is fun. You can these kids out there working and trying to have a good time. As I said last time out, this has got the feel of one of those 80's teen flicks. Everything is there. The brashness, youthfulness and relationship issues, all jump off the page at you. And you're left with what you want for your money a good, enjoyable story. The little Superman jab is funny too :)
As with most things, if you have the wrong art accompanying it, you loss a lot of the effect of the story.
One of the good things about this book is the way the art helps transport you into the story. The bright colours and boldness also help with the affect of being set in the, well, not sure really, I think 60's.
Sometimes the characters expressions can look kind of wooden, but the overall affect is right.
If you remember the 80's with a smile, if you like fun stories, you'll like this. A solid issue.
