Father's Day

June 16, 2006:  the Friday before Father's Day

I walked into Wal-Mart to do some shopping with the wife and found 2 variants from the Marvel Legends Apocalypse series.  They had just lying around, just waiting to be snatched up, a red costumed Iron Fist and the bald version of Bishop.

Now Iron Fist is more than just in a red suit, he is also battle damaged on his mask.  However, it also looks like they packaged him with a battle damaged arm.  He is mint in box, but looks like his right arm is suffering at the shoulder.  (But hey, I found a variant!!!!!)

To me, every picture of Bishop looked kind of crazy on the back of every ML-12 series card, yet up close he looks great.  In fact, I may even like this version better than my long haired original.

Now here's the killer .... when I went to the cashier to pay for them, instead of ringing up @ $7.83 each, they actually read $78.73  ..... EACH ..... WHOA!?!?!?!?!?!?!?  I had to correct that quickly.  The CSM came over fixed it and had to ring them up separately.  I ended up getting $3.00 taken off each figure for the pricing problem and ended up spending just over ten dollars for both instead of sixteen bills.
Hooray for me!!!!!
It is a nice policy to have work in your favor at Wal-Mart.  I have thus far been able to get about six figures at a discounted price of $3.00 off.  Shout out to Wally World.  Mistakes like that just seem to make a collector like me VERY HAPPY!!!

I'm still trying to find the Super Skrull and the Age of Apocalypse Weapon X, so until next time my fellow collectors ... plastic hugs and spray painted kisses.

Happy Toy Hunting!!!!

PS:  After walking into Wal-Mart the other day (June 15, 2006), I found another set of Beast figures.  I own the Stealth Beast with his "normal" classic gorilla face.  These new versions of the Beast are called the Tech Gear Beast figures.  They too have a gorilla type face from the comic book and a new costume.  The costume design is great, but the face lacks a lot to me.  That is why I am sticking with my Stealth Beast.

PPS:  My current hunt involves these figures:
Marvel Select: She-Hulk
DC Direct's Identity Crisis: Green Arrow
Fantastic Four Classics (F4):  Super Skrull
Fantastic Four Classics:  Kang
Fantastic Four Classics:  Dragon Man
Marvel Legends Giant-Man series: Age of Apocalypse Weapon X variant
and I am going to have to shell out over $20.00 for a Marvel Legends series 2 Namor figure since I did not start collecting my Marvel Legends figures until the 3rd series.

Toy Hunting News for JUNE 2006

Now is a good time to spend a few extra dollars on Amazon.com.  Although I do have a few personal problems with Amazon, they do have a nice selection and do give good sales from time to time.  Now is one of those times to take advantage of.  They have a few DC Direct, Marvel Legends, and Spider-Man figures on sale to purchase.  If you are a collector, missing a few figures, or even a custom toy maker, now is the time to see what you can find between the $5.00 - $10.00 range.

Godspeed and happy hunting!!!!
