The day after "Free Comics Day" was a good day - Due to my religious beliefs, I was unable to take advantage of that particular Saturday.  However, the owner of Colossal Comics was kind enough to extend the sale for me if I came in on Sunday.  So for the most part, I was able pick up free comic books, recieve a 40% discount on the regular comics, as well as anywhere from 33% - 40% off of action figures.  I ended up taking home the Marvel Select Thanos for $12.00, and I only paid about $10.00 a piece for the Identity Crisis Deadshot figure, as well the JLA Classifed versions of Wonder Woman, John Stewart, and the Martian Manhunter.

I was very critical of many fo the DC Direct items because of the lack of mobility and the price. In this case, the figures are well sculpted and worth the buy, especially for the price I picked them up for.  I was worried about buying the Wonder Woman beause when she featured in photos in Toyfare, she looked very cartoonish.  She looks far better facialy up-close.  The John Stewart version of Green Lantern is awesome.  The detail on John Stewart is great to the point that even his neck is muscled, and the Manhunter from Mars figures makes J'onn J'onzz look like he was hit with gamma rays from his Marvel-ous cousin, the Hulk.  He is an awesome figure.  I may have to pick up another Flash figure and the Aquaman from the JLA Classified series look really cool.  And even though I know very little about him, the Deadshot figure looks great.  He is what the Deathstroke figure from the Teen Titans series should have been.  The only drawback on Deadshot is that, like most of the Identity Crisis action Figures, have extra long arms.  (Just take a look at Zatanna).

As far as Thanos goes, he is a thing of beauty.  I once had a chance to buy him at Suncoast, but the sale was buy 2 get 1 free and at $20.00 a piece, 40 bucks is really steep to spend on only 2 worthy figures. (At the time it would have been the She-Hulk, who I still want, and Thanos, as everything else was not to my liking).  In this case, I spent just over $50.00 and received 5 great figures to play with.  And man, Toy Biz stepped in and made Thanos super-poseable and BIG.  Think the Maestro figure on steroids.
I had a great experience, if only I could find the Indentity Crisis Hawkman, the Marvel Select She-Hulk, the JLA series 2 Firestorm, Green Lantern: Rebirth Black Hand figure, the Fantastic Four Super Skrull, and Marvel Legends Namor for that discounted deal.

Until the next time, keep toy hunting alive!!!
