This is issue is suppose to be part of a wider story about Superman and Batman fighting against lookalikes of the Avengers-- a pretty interesting premise in itself. But instead, we get Superman, Batman, Bizarro and Batzarro (?) jumping from one dimension/timeline/alternate reality to another. Even the encounters with the Red Son-Superman, the Batman Beyond-Batman, the new Supergirl, the New Gods and other familiar faces, are just plain distracting. They aren't fun anymore, especially since we just saw something like this in the last story-arc. The surprise twist in the last page just makes the reader feel that everything that has gone before is just one big fake-out which should never have been taken seriously in the first place. Fortunately, the art is dynamic and eye-catching, almost making up for a story that goes all over the place but ends up losing its way.
