Rated “T” for “Teen”

Fifteen-year-old Megumu “Mego” Kobayashi has a twin brother, Mitsuru Kobayashi, the older of the two.  Megumu is a full-on otaku and a history nerd, while Mitsuru, the popular and successful high school jock, is terrible at history.  One day, dark-haired Mitsuru concocts the idea that he should put on a blonde wig and dress up as Megumu and attend her school, Tosho High.  Meanwhile, Megumu will wear a dark wig, dress like Mitsuru, and take his history exams.  This is not the last time the twins will switch places, especially when love is involved..

As So Cute it Hurts!!, Vol. 7 (Chapters 31 to 35) opens, Aoi Sanada, the love of Mego's life, discovers that his former middle school rival, Chiharu Uesugi, is a new transfer student at Akechi Boys High School.  Uesugi is also the angry guy Mego met in the park when she was not disguised as her brother.  Uesugi knows something about Aoi's past, and now, he is about to discover Mego's secret life as her twin brother Mitsuru, as well as the truth about her relationship with Sanada.

Meanwhile, Mitsuru is disguised as Mego and attending Tosho High.  School queen bee and teen model, Azusa Tokugawa, knows his secret.  Mitsuru, however, does not know Azusa's secret – she's in love with him.  Also, Mitsuru-as-Mego is playing bodyguard to protect Azusa from a pervert, but maybe this bodyguard thing have brought them too close for comfort.

THE LOWDOWN:  Are you reading the So Cute it Hurts!! manga?  Then, you probably know that it is so cute that it hurts.  It is also so fun to read it hurts when I get to the last page.  Damn, I love this manga, so I might not be a reliable reviewer for it.

So Cute it Hurts!! Volume 7 brings on the twists and turns.  Even after creator Go Ikeyamada had a few characters discover Megumu and Mitsuru's secret, she kept the cross-dressing hook, and she has found ways to keep it fresh with all-new subplots.  Honestly, I did not think that this series would even make it to a fifth graphic novel collection.  With the addition of Chiharu Uesugi, the fun won't stop just yet – thank the manga gods.

POSSIBLE AUDIENCE:  Readers looking for high school shojo romantic comedies will want the Shojo Beat title, So Cute it Hurts!!
