Suddenly we are on Mars with no explanation of how the Frankenstein monster got there. In the second part of this miniseries, he is riding an alien beast, tracking an evil overlord who has enslaved scores of children. The creators don't bother to fill in the blanks between this issue and the last. Perhaps they feel that Morrison's vision is so strong, his concepts so mind-blowing and the story so stirring that people won't complain. They almost pull it off. This issue would fall apart if you tried to analyze it too much but just sit back and read the book and it can stand well on its own if you take it for a straight action story with a horror movie-hero. Still, it isn't the kind of thing that Morrison can get away with too often.
