We also discover that once again, Firestorm is the merging of two people, except that this time, the combination may not be so benign. It is a too bad that they couldn't tell this story in a more exciting manner. The writer shows us once more what a nice guy Jason is and how bad his life has become. Sure, we feel sorry for him but it simply isn't gripping. The only menace in the entire story is a minor ganglord with a knife. Is that it? At this point in his career, the previous Firestorm was duking it out with Multiplex and meeting Superman. These slow-paced stories with their minor revelations every issue simply don't suit a book about such a striking character with such fantastic powers.
