1. Sleeper, Season 2 #1, 13 pts
"Let me tell you a little story. In the beginning, I never bothered with this book. I thought most Wildstorm books were complete wastes of time. But this past February, a good friend of mine at my local shop loaned me a virtual treasure trove: Greg Rucka & Steve Lieber's two Whiteout minis, and Sleeper: Season 1! The whole, 12-issue shebang!! (Trust me, this guy hands out comics like they were currency sometimes) I was hooked almost immediately. Sleeper had eveything I loved: Intrigue, violence, blurred lines, a moody atmosphere, and a hot chick who's nekkid' like crazy most of the time. And without that singular act of fanboy charity, I wouldn't have gotten this gem. Here's to another b!tchin' 12 issues, Brubaker & Phillips!!" creepingterror, DC Message Boards

(tied for 2nd) Batman: Harley & Ivy #3, 11 pts
"Although it might have seemed more timely in 1998, this is still very much a fond and fun farewell to the B:TAS universe. Sniff. Damn you, Jeff Matsuda!!" creepingterror, DC Message Boards

(tied for 2nd) Avengers/Thunderbolts #5, 11 pts
A decent enough battle issue, with good characterization and a working plot. I would fault it a bit for lacking believable flow, and Moonstone's characterization was difficult to accept.

(tied for 2nd) Superman Secret Files 2004, 11 pts
"The main story is all right as the DCU gets a new President. The Suicide Squad was fun, especially Capt. Boomerang. It's been at least a decade since I've seen Jim Fern's pencils and they were pretty good. The Mxy backup was a riot and the profile pages delivered a lot of information the regular writers aren't giving us." Krypton King, DC Message Boards

5. Ultimate Fantastic Four #4, 10 pts
" I like Ellis' explanation of the N-zone and the effect it had on the FF and Van Damme. I also like his take on Ben. Ben clearly doesn't like his situation (who would?), yet Ben refuses to go into overblown agnst and self-pity. I'd say this title is in good hands." Aziraphale, DC Message Boards

6. JLA #100, 9 pts
A very typical Joe Kelly story. The disconnected plot gave it more suspense, but when everything was said and done the entire premise seemed incredibly lame. On the bright side, it was nice to review the previous Elite story, which was good.

7. The Punisher #8, 7 pts
"This Marvel Max series has been consistently good. No comedic relief here, no relief @ all, really. Relentless good story-telling, fluid art, first from lewis larosa and now from leandro fernandez. Garth Ennis is making the punisher repulsive and compelling, ironic and tragic. Excellent- the best book by Marvel right now." invasion, DC Message Boards

(tied for 8th) Green Lantern #178, 6 pts
"Looks like I might be the only one, but I loved it. Best issue of GL since Judd Winick left, and the first time in over a year that it's gotten more than 2 stars out of me. A great fight between Kyle and one of his best rogues. The artwork was fantastic. Something is brewing with Kyle -- between his surge of willpower here and doing the impossible and willing himself out of harm's way at the end of Raab's (atrociously bad) run, I have a feeling DC has something planned for Kyle when the Rebirth miniseries comes along. The big reveal at the end should have been cool, but it was spoiled by solicits weeks ago. Regardless, the only reason I didn't give this one 5 stars is the John Stewart subplot. It came out of nowhere and the last thing the needed was another GL getting dumped by his girlfriend. But I'm hoping that it's all part of a bigger plan. Guess we'll see." Mister Miracle, DC Message Boards

(tied for 8th) Caper #9, 6 pts
"New storyline for this maxiseries. Two new characters. Very enjoyable. Great cover as well. Definitely the Best Read of the Week." georgeg, DC Message Boards

10. Doom Patrol #1, 5 pts
As I feared, the issue focused too much on the annoying kids and not enough on what I payed to see. The whole issue was very typical Byrne, to the point that I nearly dozed off for lack of novelty. Batman seems to be very far along the road to senility this issue as well. The dialog was very flat, as was the plot. Why were dozens of good DP stories tossed out of continuity, to be replaced by pure mediocrity?

11. The Moth #3, 4 pts

12. Real Bout High School vol. 6, Midnight Mass, Here There Be Monsters #6, Invincible #13, On the Road to Perdition: Detour, Closer (GN), 3 pts

18. Wolverine/Punisher #4, Richard Dragon #2, Iron Man #85, Del Rey Manga Sampler, Star Wars: Republic #66, Batman #629, 2 pts

24. Iron Fist #85, X-Statix #24, Peach Girl: Change of Heart #9, Ultimate X-Men #48, Batgirl #53, Star Wars: Clone Wars FCBD Special #1, 1 pt
