These rankings are compiled from the top 3 vote-getters of 20 different voters on the Internet for comics released on October 13th, 2004.

A good resolution to the Hourman plot. While there is probably no ideal way of handling Extant, this probably comes closest. Looks like Adam Smasher is returning next issue.

2. Gotham Central #24, 14 pts
"The conclusion of the Corrigan storyline finishes and I'm most impressed with Rucka's writing this time around. After a drawn out yet somewhat solid arc in HALF A LIFE, we see Montoya in a new light that's going to show why she's one of the toughest, if not the toughest in the MCU. Michael Lark's pencils show why he's the master of this book; action, to conversational drama with great detail as Stephano Gaudiano inks Lark's pencils. Still, the best mainstream comic produced by the big 2." DubipR, DC Message Boards

(tied for 3rd) Fables #30, 7 pts
The results of the election are in, and Snow's pregnancy is also resolved. It's nice to see the series moving along, and the characterization was charming and appropriate as well. If anything bad could be singled out, it would be that the issue was more cartoonish than most in the series. Still, a high-quality read.

(tied for 3rd) Powers #5, 7 pts
"Homocide detective Christian Walker continues his search for abducted partner Deena Pilgrim and runs into some sickos along the way. Plus a shocking surprise ending. As is usual for Powers Brian Bendis shows off his amazing skills in the area of potty humour. That guy should write for South Park and it would be have even more and fouler language." ruschein, DC Message Boards

(tied for 3rd) Fallen Angel #16, 7 pts
"More is revealed about the denziens of Bete Noire in #16. Shadow Boxer's full origin is shown, as well as Juris' powers of not being hurt. I don't really like the idea of Boxer and Juris having superpowers. I like the idea of having them being just manipulative humans, without any powers helping them. But I suppose their has to be some balance to Lee's powers. The next couple of issues are supposed to reveal quite a bit about Bete Noire. Lets hope that it keeps Fallen Angel from cancellation." Jimmy King, DC Message Boards

(tied for 6th) Knights of the Dinner Table #96, 6 pts
A significant drop from the previous issues (what wouldn't be?), but still very entertaining. Even though the plot was nothing spectacular, it seemed somehow right. That's not something that can be said about most comics series.

(tied for 6th) Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #184, 6 pts
"Wargames is becoming one of my favorite crossovers, ever! The big battle at the ampitheater was just amazing and the final page was so cool. I'm glad I decided to pick up this crossover." revolver86, DC Message Boards

(tied for 6th) Green Arrow #43, 6 pts
"Ollie and Connor hit the streets to find a missing girl. Brick is developing into a SERIOUS threat as he shows he can outsmart the cops, the crooks, AND Team Arrow. All this, plus a HUGE revelation about Mia in the last panel. I love this book and can't wait to see where it goes next." Mister Miracle, DC Message Boards

(tied for 6th) Ex Machina #4, 6 pts
"The really quick conclusion to multiple murders was odd, but it was nice to see the obvious 'old buddy did it' was not used." chaingunsofdoom, DC Message Boards

10. She-Hulk #8, 5 pts
Amusing and irreverent as usual, but the resolution to the Champion plot was only mildly entertaining. Hopefully the series will not stay in the rut that this issue was in.

11. Warlock #2, Nightwing #98, 4 pts

13. Justice League Elite #4, Rex Mundi #12, SPX 2004, 3 pts

16. Iron Wok Jan #10, Street Fighter #10, Dream Saga vol. 2, Hard Time #9, True Story Swear to God #11, Secret Wars #3, 2 pts

22. Challengers of the Unknown #5, X-Force #3, Action Comics #820, Marvel Knights Spider-Man #7, District X #6, Hawkman #33, 1 pt
